Restaurants could be made to hand all tips to staff under proposed new law

Staff members working for businesses and other restaurants could have their tips protected under new proposals tabled in Parliament. The private member’s bill, which will be considered later this year, wants to stop employers from holding onto staff tips or deducting money from them.
